An innovative framework - and introducing Quillo Connect!
Quillo is now a Charting the LifeCourse Nexus Technology Partner! The Quillo team is honored and excited by this new partnership.
Charting the LifeCourse’s innovative framework
In nearly 47 years of work in this field, I have seen tremendous growth in our ability to engage people in true person-centered approaches. During that time, I had the great pleasure of getting to know some of the earliest pioneers and see the amazing results they achieved. When I was first introduced to Charting the LifeCourse Nexus (LifeCourse Nexus), I saw something that moved the person-centered approaches forward in a dramatic way. Subsequently, I knew Quillo would want to be part of supporting this framework.
The Charting the LifeCourse tools were developed at the UMKC Institute of Human Development (UMKC IHD), a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The tools include Life Domains, Life Trajectory, Three Buckets, and Integrated Supports Star. The goal is to help individuals and families of all abilities and ages with the following:
- develop visions for a good life
- identify how to find and access supports
- and discover how to live the lives they want to live.
Introducing Quillo Connect
Over the last year, we worked closely with Charting the LifeCourse to further develop Quillo’s approach of micro-learning, positive psychology and personal well being. The result is Quillo Connect, a new platform created for families, people with I/DD and their trusted friends.
Using the LifeCourse framework and key principles, Quillo Connect will be designed to help people:
- become more engaged in their choices and opportunities
- develop higher expectations
- connect with state resources
- learn from people’s experiences around the country and in their own communities
- and share experiences with others.
Information at your fingertips
Additionally, using the power of short stories delivered directly to their own devices or to those who support them, Quillo Connect will share messages people can relate to. As a result, these stories will ultimately help people build a good life. And because Quillo believes everybody deserves a chance for a good life, Quillo Connect will be available to people in the disability service system, those on a waiting list, or those who have no idea where to start.
Moreover, Quillo Connect will provide state agencies a direct link to families, people with I/DD, and their trusted friends. This will fundamentally change the relationship between policy makers and those whose lives are impacted by them.

We share their vision and passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and their families across the country.
