People have asked us to bring back our Quillo Blog and we are glad to do it. For the last several years we have focused on Quillo Pod – having completed 164, that’s right, 164 weekly podcasts with my cohost Cynthia Morraz, our Director of Digital Community. You can find Quillo Pod anywhere you listen to podcasts and we hope you check it out.
Blogs are different and give another chance to share thoughts, ideas and insights from the Quillo perspective. So today on February 1, 2026 we are starting blogging again – plus bringing you our archive that has been fun to revisit.
A lot has changed and those changes leave many overwhelmed. Staff, people with I/DD and families have shared with us that is how they feel.
For many, there is so much change going on regarding the support their son or daughter is receiving, and it is unclear what will happen – no one has answers. They are asked to reach out to state and federal legislators, and feel they get no response.
It is hard to find and keep staff in these times. For some on waiting lists, the list just gets longer.
For many, the political climate is very concerning and upsetting, with many scared about what could happen to their sons and daughters.
We have heard that it is often hard to have hope with so much uncertainty.
My friend Nicole Jorwic, writing for Caring Across Generations, shared that there is a space where hard times and hope can exist, but we need to share and support each other.
That is our goal with MyQuillo. Be watching this space as we will be sharing two free webinars for families designed to help you feel less overwhelmed and find space for hope.
Please share what you are doing to help others find hope. Send me an email – share a text – there is a space where hard times and hope can exist – but we have to build it. Join us at MyQuillo to do just that.
We hope you have found this helpful. We often feel like we are on our own figuring out what comes next. What is your greatest challenge right now – do you have a few minutes to share with us on what you feel is the most pressing issue you are facing?
Let us know here!
